Success story
Sagem-Interstar and Netmedic unite Lotus Notes and Cisco Unity

Sagem-Interstar's XMediusFAX boardless T.38 FoIP software has always integrated seamlessly with Lotus Notes for sending and receiving faxes.
However, until now, there had been a gap in the Cisco Unified Communications platform, whereby Cisco’s Unity server was not able to recognize and notify users of incoming faxes received by XMediusFAX and uploaded to the Lotus Notes email store.
Following recent collaboration between Lotus Notes and Netmedic (a Cisco Premier Certified Partner specializing in IP Telephony), this gap has been remedied.
Drawing upon many years of Lotus Notes programming and consulting savvy, Mark Mentink (a Cisco specialist at Netmedic) bridged the gap by creating a small application. The application allows Cisco Unity to recognize incoming faxes through their "message class", and to notify Cisco Unity users of received faxes.
Cisco Unity users are now alerted to new faxes received by XMediusFAX and uploaded to their Lotus Notes inbox, in addition to notification on the number of emails and voicemails received.

Sagem-Interstar signs a major distribution deal in Asia-Pacific
Sagem-Interstar has extended its channel partnership with Active Voice, a global provider of unified messaging, computer telephony and voice messaging solutions, with offices in the Americas, EMEA and Asia-Pacific regions.
Active Voice B.V. in The Netherlands, which has been selling and supporting Sagem-Interstar's fax server products in Europe, Middle East and Africa (EMEA) since 2000, had proposed that Sagem-Interstar team up with Active Voice's Australian branch. The ultimate objective was to assist Active Voice in penetrating the Asian marketplace.
Active Voice Asia-Pacific first purchased an XMediusFAX boardless T.38 FoIP license in December 2006 and immediately recognized its benefits and potential. From that moment onwards, the Melbourne-based branch has been actively promoting, selling and supporting Sagem-Interstar's XMediusFAX boardless (software-only) T.38 FoIP fax server software in the Asia-Pacific region, which covers: Australia, New Zealand, India, China, Hong Kong, Indonesia, Thailand, and Vietnam, among others.
One of Active Voice Asia-Pacific's largest customers is the Department of Defence in Australia. They have also fostered close relationships with major resellers such as Telstra and Dimension Data, and have major prospects in Sydney, Melbourne, Perth and Canberra. They believe Sagem-Interstar’s XMediusFAX field-proven, "boardless FoIP" appeal will spear-head Active Voice's penetration into the Asian marketplace.
"...XMediusFAX has opened doors for us that we could not previously open due to competitive products and relationships already in place. Now we can promote a separate product, get their attention and then educate them on our own range of products. With VoIP taking off in a big way, XMediusFAX now provides a complete IP solution for resellers."
- John Hunter,
National Business Development Manager, Active Voice Asia-Pacific

XMediusFAX 5.5 - Shipping May 2007
This month, a new release of XMediusFAX (version 5.5) will be launched.
Here is a sneak peek at some of the new product highlights and benefits:
Directory Integration: Added support for LDAP-based directories, such as Active Directory and Domino to manage users' faxing properties without special modifications to the directory itself (Schema Extensions). These Directories match users to XMediusFAX Profiles using information available in the Directories. This eliminates the need to create and manage user accounts in the XMediusFAX Internal Directory.
Multilingual Support: XMediusFAX's SendFAX, MMC Snap-in, and all other Windows-based clients are now available in both English and French. Administrators and users can immediately benefit from the new multilingual clients without having to re-install the applications. Users can also select from 6 different languages for the Web Status & Compose, Email Notifications and Outlook/Notes Forms. These include English, French, German, Italian, Portuguese, and Spanish.
3 Different Products –> Same Platform: Sagem-Interstar unifies its product line-up with the release of XMediusFAX 5.5 for all three T.38 FoIP product offerings: XMediusFAX Enterprise, SP, and Express. All three products will be operating the same architecture. All XMediusFAX 5.5 customers will therefore benefit from the industry leading "SP" architecture. Features are enforced by the License Key, and can upgrade seamlessly from one version to another.
Extended Third-Party Support: XMediusFAX 5.5 has added support for the Microsoft 2007 Product line-up, including Office 2007, Windows Vista and Microsoft Exchange 2007. A SAP integration is also now available for customers running this ERP system.
